The Embassy participated in the annual charity market event which was organized by the International Women's Club on Sunday, December 10, 2017, in Chisinau, with all embassies of other countries and international organizations accredited to the Republic of Moldova, in addition to a large number of civil society organizations as well as commercial centers. The event was attended by the President of the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Igor Dodon, with his spouse, who inaugurated the event together with the spouse of H.E. Mr. Ambassador of the State of Qatar. The Qatari pavilion drew the attention of all participants and visitors to its distinctiveness from the rest of pavilions through the installation of an Arabian tent, the accuracy of the arrangement and organization of the contents of the pavilion and the various exhibits in it, which included clothing, antiques and handicrafts, as well as the presence of a Qatari woman who engraved Henna on the hands of women who visited the pavilion, including spouse of the President. The Qatari pavilion also featured a number of popular cuisines, including the preparation of various pies (rgag) made by a Qatari woman who was hosted from Doha with self-made efforts. The Qatari pavilion was impressive for all its visitors. It was one of the most active pavilions in terms of number of visitors and sales’ volume which scored the second place after the Turkish pavilion and in terms of attracting the attention of local media which filmed the pavilion and held interviews with Mr. Ambassador. The organizers of the event also praised the participation of the Qatari Embassy and its donation of the full amount collected from the sales of the charity market. This year, as in the past three years, it has been decided to provide the market’s returns to children with cancer and to the sections of this disease in Moldovan hospitals.
